WHAT TYPE OF TYRES DO YOU REQUIRE?

Here at West Yorkshire Autos we stock a wide range of budget tyres at very competitive prices.

The tyre you require depends entirely on what car you drive and the type of driving you do.

For example an economic tyre is a fantastic choice for those who make smaller, but more frequent journeys. An example of this could be town driving.

For frequent longer journeys we’d suggest you choose a tyre that minimises noise and guarantees maximum comfort.

All season tyres (all weather tyres) are designed for use in countries with mild to moderate weather all year round. These of course are a great choice for us in the United Kingdom.

All season tyres have all the makings and hallmarks of summer and winter tyres so you get the best of both worlds!

Winter tyres are specifically designed to deal with cold, wet, icy and snowy conditions.

These tyres are made of a different material than the standard or summer tyres and also have more rubber in them to ensure they remain safe and flexible in the colder weather.

Winter tyres also have more tread to help deal with the more difficult conditions. More tread mean more grip which greatly reduced any potential skidding/slipping.

Naturally vans on a daily basis deal with heavy loads in a variety of challenging conditions.

An example of this could be busy city centre driving, or even large deliveries to and from building sites.

Van tyres are made with strong side walls to deal with heavy weight and uneven road surfaces.

It is very important you choose the correct tyre for your van as they can reduce your fuel consumption, reduce Co2 emissions, improve your safety and enable you to handle your vehicle more efficiently.

Believe it or not most camper vans spend more time stationary than they do on the road which as a result leads to quicker wear and tear.

We strongly suggest checking the condition of your camper or motor home tyres before setting off on your next adventure.

The tyres fitted on your camper or motorhome are usually in the ‘light commercial’ (c) category. This means they are a more hard-wearing tyre and are designed to hold the extra weight of vehicles such as motor homes/camper vans.

If you drive a minivan or a multipurpose type vehicle it is essential you choose the correct extra load (XL) tyres for the job.

Some of us know ‘XL’ tyres as ‘reinforced tyres’ but they are specially designed to carry heavier cars.

4×4 tyres are available in a number of varieties including on-road, off-road, mud and all terrain.

4X4 tyres cope very well with fast speeds and quick movement.

We do suggest that your 4X4 has four of the same brand/type of tyre to ensure your vehicle performs at it’s maximum potential.
